Summary
Pest Control Milton was contacted regarding wildlife noise originating from the attic space. Our team completed a staged, humane squirrel removal using one-way doors, followed by targeted exterior exclusion at identified roofline and vent entry points. All work was completed from the exterior, with final confirmation that activity had ceased.

The property is a two-storey brick home with asphalt shingles, aluminum soffits, and multiple roofline intersections and wall vents. These construction features can create vulnerable junctions along the roof edge if materials shift or deteriorate over time.
Customer Concern
The homeowner reported repeated early-morning scratching and movement sounds coming from the attic, consistent with squirrel activity. The concern was ongoing roof access and potential interior damage.
Inspection & Findings
During the initial inspection, our technician identified a primary entry point at a soffit and roofline intersection. The opening showed visible material displacement consistent with wildlife entry.
A follow-up inspection after initial work identified an additional access point and two unsecured wall vents that could allow secondary entry.

Cause Analysis
Squirrels commonly exploit roofline intersections, soffit joints, and vents where building materials meet or overlap. Elevated roof access combined with small construction gaps can allow repeated attic entry. Once established, squirrels may test nearby areas for secondary access points.
Treatment / Removal
All wildlife work was completed using humane, non-lethal exclusion methods. One-way doors were installed over identified entry points to allow squirrels to exit naturally while preventing re-entry. No trapping or relocation was performed.
Exclusion & Repairs
Following confirmation that activity had reduced, additional exclusion was completed:
- Installation of a second one-way door at a newly identified opening
- Sealing and reinforcement of roofline gaps with galvanized steel screening
- Installation of galvanized steel cages over two wall vents
All exclusion materials were mechanically fastened and integrated with existing roof and siding components.
Outcome & Confirmation
On the final visit, the homeowner reported no further wildlife activity. One-way doors were removed, all openings were permanently sealed, and the full exclusion was inspected. No additional squirrel activity has been reported since completion of the work.
